Juniors at the JJB

When Wigan Warriors play host to St Helens on Friday evening, keep an eye on the pitch at half-time.

The U8s and U9s from Leyland will be involved in the mini league matches, against their counterparts from Westhoughton.

A fantastic experience for all the kids to enjoy, playing in front of what should be over 20,000 people.

Enjoy yourselves boys!

Current Open Age player Kristian Hodson is presently representing England in the Student Rugby League World Cup in Brisbane.

Former Leyland player Chris Tuson made his debut last Friday night for the Wigan Warriors at the JJB Stadium.

Submitted by Drop Goal on June 22 2008 23:25:38

General

Based upon feedback received from our own players and the numerous phone calls and e-mails received from other clubs, our Festival has been a resounding success.

This was despite the adverse weather conditions throughout the day, which curtailed a number of planned off-pitch activities and delayed the setting up process.

04-05-08: Leyland Warriors U10s 18, Shevington Sharks 14

Submitted by Drop Goal on May 04 2008 17:35:10

Under 10s - 2007/08

The rain during the game had no effect on the good quality of rugby on show from both teams in an enthralling match.

Leyland got off to the worst possible start as poor tackling allowed Shevington to score two long range tries inside five minutes, both were unconverted. 0-8.

The Warriors began to get into the game with some solid forward play seeing them cross the line twice, but good tackling saw Declan Roberts lose the ball in the tackle and Ellis Pocklington driven back into the field of play.
